A multi-national financial services company required a comprehensive network & systems management solution to manage its growing TCP/IP- based wide area network and a new comprehensive set of distributed applications. Supporting time-sensitive mission-critical traffic as well as inter-branch administrative data, this network connected the corporate with its remote branch offices, and international partners.

The full compliment of OpenView portfolio (ITO, NNM, ManageX, DTA, ITSM), along with Cisco 2000, Telamon, and Remedy ARS was selected to develop a comprehensive Enterprise Management Solution. Savli Group, along with its partners, were asked to design, develop, build, test, and deploy this solution on the Operations floor.

Specifically, Savli Group's was tasked to perform Lead Architect functions and to lead design, development, and deployment of core IT Processes (Help Desk, Change Mgmnt, Configuration Management, etc. etc.). To perform the Lead Architect functions, Savli worked with teams of tool experts to craft a phased architecture. This approach minimized the team's up-front implementation risks as well as allowed the system to be flexible to respond to the emerging business requirements.

Savli successfully worked with the client and its partners to not only develop the architecture, and lead the team but also to implement and deploy the designed solution. A key Savli value-add in this particular engagement focused on Savli's ability to fill-in for team staff turnover within the product areas of ITO/NNM, ITSM, and ManageX implementations. While the EMS systems were being developed and validated, Savli was also working with key business stakeholders to engineer IT process flows for the company. As part of developing these core processes, Savli worked extensively with company executives to address critical areas such as organization alignment, changing people roles, and detailing staffing profiles.

Upon successful completion of the core process development, Savli worked with the implementation team to establish linkages between the Process flows and the EMS tool sets. This enables the teams to establish detailed operations and business guidelines that worked seamlessly with the deployed solutions.

Project Status: Initial deployment of all EMS systems is complete and we are deploying processes for help desk and asset management. Now that the trilogy of People-Process-Technology was sufficiently developed and integrated, Savli assisted in the deployment of the EMS solution on to the Operations floor. After successful transition to operations staff, Savli was tasked to enhance the existing EMS sustaining engineering facility. , The client continues to refine and augment its existing NOC and EMS based skill-sets as well as refine the accompanying IT process flows. Savli has been retained to assist the client in these tasks as well as continue to provide Architectural and Sustaining engineering services.
